Event Description

We’ve all heard the doomsday news that coral reefs are on their way to collapse. We’ve also heard the stories about research to develop “super corals” along with many other methods to help keep them around. This talk will provide an honest assessment of various projections for coral reefs into the future, and will give an overview of the available tools to increase the resilience of corals to climate change. Joanie Kleypas will provide a personal note about her own experience in coral reef restoration, and how that has shaped her thinking within the discussion of how to save corals reefs when it’s too damn hot already.
