Event Description
*Please note time change*
Natural history museums have dual missions of scientific discovery and education, with a growing emphasis on inspiring the conservation of our natural world. While physical specimens exhibited and stored in brick and mortar buildings remain the heart of museums – we must also go digital. This will both connect us with modern audiences, and keep pace with the biological changes on our planet. Dr. Kays will talk about how biodiversity data that is collected electronically, or “born-digital”, can be used to meet the dual missions of museums in a rapidly changing world.
This is the second in the 2020/21 CCI Conservation Seminar series.
