World Rivers Day

27th September 2020

Today is World Rivers Day. We all depend on fresh water, and recent reports that none of the UK’s rivers met standards for pollution are troubling. The UK is home to around 85% of the world’s chalk streams, and this rare habitat is in crisis due to critically low water levels.

CCF member Cam Valley Forum have produced a manifesto laying out a plan of action to help our beautiful local rivers and save this precious habitat for trout, water voles, mayfly, white-clawed crayfish and many other species.
