Funding, profile and training for outstanding conservation leaders!
The Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK-registered charity offering Whitley Awards to dynamic grassroots conservation leaders in the Global South who are working with communities to conserve wildlife and their habitats. Whitley Awards are an international profile prize and form of project funding worth £40,000 GBP over one year to support the scale up of proven work founded on science and local involvement.
Application to the Whitley Awards 2021 is now open and will close at midnight GMT on 31st October 2020.
Subject to COVID-19 and government advice, the awards will be presented at the Whitley Awards Ceremony in London during April/May 2021. Successful applicants will receive funding in June that year. WFN’s Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, presents these coveted prizes, which come with communications training, publicity and the opportunity to apply for further funding.
Whitley Awards are aimed at conservation leaders working in countries or regions of which they are nationals and that are not defined as having a High-Income Economy by the World Bank (with some exceptions).
