Looking after Bourn Brook
At the Countryside Restoration Trust we have now started the Bourn Brook Himalayan Balsam campaign for 2019. This is part of a long-running plan involving the CRT and the Wildlife Trust, Cambridge Conservation Volunteers, local farmers and the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group. We aim to eradicate or at least control this invasive plant along the length of the Bourn Brook, a tributary of the River Cam south-west of Cambridge. Volunteers can come along to any of the events listed on the Wildlife Trust website https://www.wildlifebcn.org/what-we-do/nature-recovery-network/water-wildlife/bourn-brook where there is also a link to the latest report on how successful the campaign has been, and our other work on Giant Hogweed and Mink.
