WWF is pleased to announce the latest publication in our Wildlife and Climate Change Series, on Giant pandas.

Although giant panda populations have been on the rise in recent years, they may face additional challenges in a changing climate. The largest threat to pandas could come from human responses to climate change, as the high-elevation panda habitat becomes more suitable for agriculture in a warming planet. Additionally, their small population size, specialized diet, long generation time and low reproductive rate will make pandas less able to adapt to changes in climate than many other species.
