A short prose writing competition for the Cambridge Conservation Initiative

CCI welcomes entries of up to 500 words on the participants’ encounters with nature and place, broadly defined

 In selecting the winners, our judges Steve Trudgill, Elizabeth Allen and Martin Fisher will be looking for:

Close observations of, and encounters with nature, and place

An ability to illuminate aspects of place, beings and processes

Wider insights into our relationship with, and particular themes in thinking and writing about, nature

All entries are to be submitted by midnight on Sunday, June 11th 2017, via the following link:

Winners to be announced on June 23rd 2017

The top three entries will be published in the summer issue of BirdLife Magazine, and the top five participants will be awarded a copy of the 50th anniversary edition of The Peregrine, by JA Baker.
