Science Communications Executive- RSPB, Sandy

Application Deadline:
21 Nov 2019

The RSPB's award-winning Conservation Science teams are brimming with amazing, ground breaking, inspirational stories and they need someone to help tell them!

We're looking for a communications specialist to identify, develop and execute communications activities in support of the RSPB's Conservation Science objectives, both internally and externally. You will be responsible for the planning and management of a work programme to communicate and promote the breadth and depth of the RSPB's science work to relevant target audiences. You will plan, coordinate content creation, and analyse the performance of RSPB Science communications channels, including web and social media, so that the channels communicate with their target audiences effectively.

You will prepare professional briefings and training that help develop the skills needed by RSPB scientists to communicate our scientific work clearly to internal and external audiences, in line with broader RSPB objectives and messaging. You will co-ordinate science priorities and ensure these are incorporated into the RSPB communications plan to enable them to be project managed and aligned with other priority activities and projects.

You will build relationships between Conservation Science and Fundraising and Communications to ensure that we make optimum use of our scientific work in our communications and fundraising work to help achieve RSPB objectives. This is a fast-paced role in a buzzing PR department and an exciting opportunity to be part of Europe's biggest nature conservation charity.
