• Location: Cambridge, UK
• Full time: 35 hours per week
• Contract: Open ended
• Salary: £37,000 - £47,000 (depending on experience) pro rata per annum plus a generous 12% pension benefit
• Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata per annum in year 1, increasing by 1 day pa to 28 days

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) to join this unique organisation in their headquarters in Cambridge housed within the David Attenborough Building alongside ten other conservation organisations.
 
Managing a team of 4-5, the work will focus around managing the support of BirdLife’s international offices and projects.  This will include overseeing the integration of overseas branch accounts into consolidated management accounts, co-ordinating the annual budgeting process, managing the annual audit process, and providing support to non-finance staff in producing, reviewing and managing budgets. It will also include reporting to funders, statutory accounting, systems reviews and other ad-hoc tasks. We are looking for someone who doesn’t just see this as another finance job, but an opportunity to join the BirdLife family and further develop their skills and experience to help a worthy cause. 
 
You will need to possess excellent communication and personal skills, and a flexible approach to problem solving, and initiative.  Previous team management experience is a must. You should be fluent in English and have good computer literacy, especially with spreadsheets.  Knowledge of Charities accounting and regulations is an advantage.
