Volunteer work party day - coppicing at Wandlebury Park

Learn the magic of this ancient technique which provides a constant supply of useful wood and rejuvenating trees and increasing biodiversity. The day will involve cutting with hand saws, as well as stacking and sorting cut branches – so you’ll get a good workout at the same time. Wear warm, waterproof clothing and tough shoes, bring a packed lunch and drink.

NB: No need to book. Meet at Wandlebury car park notice board. All instruction, equipment and tools provided. This is a free event but donations are always appreciated.

Directions: Wandlebury Country Park is on the A1307, 2.5km south of the Addenbrooke’s roundabout. CB22 3AE. Parking is available on site and costs £3 per vehicle, members free.
