Session delivered by Governors for Schools

Governors for Schools will be hosting a lunch time event to give you an introduction to the role, the benefits and how you can apply to one of the many roles across East of England.

Schools governors can transform the lives on children and young people by improving educational standards. Working as a team, governors support and challenge senior school leadership. Their professional skills and expertise are harnessed to make strategic decisions that improve the learning environment and future prospects for children in schools. It's a wonderful opportunity for you and for the community your school serves.

Why become a school governor?

Being a school governor is a chance to experience leadersip at board level at any point in one's career. Volunteers need to be dedicated people who care about improving education, but they do not need prior board experience.

Who are Governors for Schools?

Governors for Schools is a national charity which exists to improve educational standards in schools. It provides a free service to schools and volunteers, making matches based on skills. Schools across England can register their vacancies and Governors for Schools will work with volunteers to find the best matches.
