Information Skills Training Programme - Tidy up your digital files
Tidy up your digital files
Thursday 22 November
Weston Seminar Room, David Attenborough Building
How often do you go back to a project you were working on a while ago and struggle to work out which spreadsheet contains the information you need? Or go to a shared drive and find 3 versions of the same file all with "final" in the name?
Tidying up our digital files is often one of those things that lurks on the bottom of to do lists forever, but never gets done. So book yourself a space on this workshop and set aside some time to get your files tidied up!
After a quick introduction to best practice for stucturing and naming your files, most of the session will be time for you to get to grips with your own files, so bring a laptop with you. If you can't bring a laptop you can come to the start of the session, and I suggest you bring a pen and paper to map out ideas for a structure before going back to your desk to implement it.
Open to everyone in CCF.
