Geo-East Conference: The Ice (and after) in the Eastern counties - Hills Road 6th Form College, Cambridge
Moving forward from the previous conference focussed on Chalk, Geo-East will be holding its second conference, this time on the Ice Ages in the Eastern Counties. We will be covering a diverse range of topics including climate change, palaeogeography and Ice Age rivers, mammalian biostratigraphy, the Fens and their human history and the dramatic opening of the English Channel – dare we call it the first Brexit?
The conference will take place in the Science lecture Theatre at Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge on Saturday 18th November.
Final details of the talk titles are still being decided by the speakers but we have a prestigious line-up including Prof Nick Ashton, Dr Steve Boreham, Prof. David Bridgland, Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Prof. Danielle Schreve and Dr Colin Summerhayes.
There will be posters and over lunch John Lord will demonstrate techniques of antler tool-making.
The registration fee is £30, payable by cheque or postal order made out to Geo-East. It includes lunch and refreshments on arrival and during the day.
