DEFRA Consultation events
15 Apr 2018 - 21:30 to 30 Apr 2018 - 21:30
A brighter future for farming and our countryside
From 20 March – 30 April, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is organising a series of events across the country to capture local viewpoints on its public consultation on the future agricultural policy in England: ‘Health and Harmony: the future for food, farming and the environment’.
The aim of these events is to give interested members of the general public, specifically farmers and land owners, an opportunity to share their views on future farming policy as the UK prepares to leave the EU and the Common Agricultural Policy.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to:
Hear from Defra officials about the Government’s proposals for the future of farming
Express their views and aspirations for the future of farming in England
Contribute ideas and suggestions to help shape policy proposals
Gain an understanding of the consultation process and how it feeds into the upcoming Agriculture Bill
Views can also be submitted online until 8 May 2018 here: https://consult.defra.gov.uk/farming/future-of-farming/
