7th International Orchid Conservation Congress
Following on from previous conferences in Australia, Florida, Costa Rica, Reunion, and Hong Kong, the 7th International Orchid Conservation Congress will return to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew this year: Tues 28th May to Sat 1st June. Registration is now open. Abstracts for presentations and posters should be submitted to abstractsIOCC@kew.org before 10 March 2019.
The congress registration fee includes four days of talks and poster sessions in Kew’s Jodrell Laboratory Building, lunches, coffee and tea breaks and a conference dinner in Kew’s iconic Orangery. In addition, one of three field trips (to take place on Friday 31 May) can be selected for a small additional charge, with a packed lunch included.
In addition, we have raised funds for approximately 12 bursaries (up to £1000 to cover travel and accommodation) to help junior orchid researchers/students from some countries overseas to attend the conference. The attached form has further details. Applications are invited from junior researchers and students from countries on the list enclosed in the notes to applicants (see page 2 of the attached file), but, due to the source of some of the funding, applicants from Commonwealth countries and other countries listed in the first two columns of the list are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will receive a bursary and their registration fee will be waived. The call for bursary applications is now open and the closing date is 28 February 2019.
